Astral MCP

Bring Astral into the AI you already use.

Connect ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Codex, Gemini, or any compatible MCP client. Ask in that conversation, and Astral returns the same research, strategy, backtest, and trading cards in the thread.

Open Developer setup.

Enable Developer mode in ChatGPT and create a new remote MCP app.

Add the Astral endpoint.

Paste this URL into the app's MCP server field, then save the connection.

Sign in to Astral.

A secure Astral page opens in your browser. Sign in, review the requested access, then approve the connection.

MCP, in plain English

A secure bridge between your conversation and Astral.

Model Context Protocol gives AI clients a shared way to use Astral’s tools. It connects the products; it does not copy your entire Astral account into the chat.

01

Your client connects to Astral.

Add Astral’s remote endpoint to a compatible client. MCP then lets the client discover the Astral tools available to your account.

02

You authorize the Astral connection.

Complete Astral’s secure sign-in and consent flow. Your account, plan, and permissions determine which tools the client can access.

03

Your client calls an Astral tool.

Ask naturally in the conversation. The client sends a request to Astral for research, strategy building, backtesting, or trading.

04

Astral returns the result to chat.

Astral sends the result back to the same conversation as an interactive card you can inspect, confirm, and continue working from.

Cards in the conversation

Ask once. Get the actual Astral card.

Each tool can render a live UI card in your client. Ask in the conversation, inspect the card, then keep going in the same thread.

01 / Research

Screen the market in the conversation.

Ask for a screen, quotes, filings, or key metrics. Astral returns a sortable dataset card instead of a wall of numbers.

Screen for mid-cap tech stocks with positive earnings growth.
02 / Chart

Pull up the chart without leaving chat.

Ask for a symbol, timeframe, and indicators. The chart card can overlay trades from a backtest on the same pane.

Chart AAPL daily with SMA 10 and overlay my last backtest trades.
03 / Build

Turn the idea into rules you can inspect.

Describe the setup. Astral builds a strategy card with the universe, signals, risk rules, and copyable strategy code.

Build a quality-momentum strategy on AAPL, MSFT, and NVDA.
04 / Test

Run the test and read the equity path.

Ask to backtest the strategy. The card shows the equity curve with return, drawdown, Sharpe, and trade stats.

Backtest it over the last two years.
05 / Connect

Link a brokerage from the same thread.

Ask to connect an account. The card lists supported brokers and opens Astral’s secure portal to finish the link.

Connect my brokerage account.
06 / Order

Review the ticket before anything is sent.

Ask to preview an order. Quantity, type, limit, and risk levels stay editable. Nothing submits until you confirm in the card.

Preview a limit buy of 12 AAPL on my paper account.
07 / Portfolio

See holdings, allocation, and P&L.

Ask for open positions. The card lists quantity, market value, and unrealized P&L for each symbol.

Show my open positions.
08 / Deploy

Run the strategy and keep it in view.

Ask to deploy a saved strategy to paper or live. The deployments card shows mode, capital, assets, and a mini equity path.

Deploy my saved Quality Momentum strategy to paper trading.
09 / Events

Ask why the strategy traded.

The execution history card is the event log: signals, orders, fills, and risk failures in one list.

Why did my strategy trade? Show the event log.

Give your AI access to real trading tools.

Research markets, build explicit strategies, and run backtests without leaving the conversation.
